When downtrodden 1980s Ireland inaugurated a National Lottery the people began to dream. For Stefan it was an obsession. Seeing a flaw in the system, he attempted to fix the draw but the heist became public and the lottery tried to stop him, dividing the nation on a very public caper.

Filmmaker’s Biography

Ross Whitaker’s first feature – the no budget Saviours (2008) – was acclaimed as the best Irish film of the year and has been included on lists of Ireland’s best Irish films of all time (Irish Times, Sunday Times).  He has gone on to make a number of award winning features (including Unbreakable, Between Land and Sea, Katie) and short films (including Bye Bye Now, which won awards at AFI Docs and Oscar qualifiers Nashville and Edindocs and Sleeping Flags, which recently won prestigious D&AD and Cannes Lions Awards).
